"Nowhere can component redundancy be potentially more critical a concern than in relation to a steam turbine generator's emergency trip device..."

Power Generation Equipment

Never-used, mint-condition U.S. Navy turbines adapted for industrial applications.

Interpro enjoys a strategic alliance with Geothermal Power Company, Inc. (GPC) of Elmira, N.Y., leaders within the geothermal power generation field. This firm owns an inventory of mint-condition high (HP) and low pressure (LP) admission steam turbines, purchased from the United States Navy.

Manufactured in the late stages of World War II for medium and light cruiser propulsion and referred to in Navy jargon as “battle damage spares,” these turbines have been meticulously cared for ever since.

The entire inventory of unused units was purchased from the U.S. Navy during the late 1950s by GPC for use in support of their efforts in geothermal power developments. The five now in service in the United States are all in geothermal applications, delivering flawless performance for the past fifteen years, an accomplishment to which testimonials abound.

To date, none of the turbines have been available to the general industrial market. This is now the direction GPC and Interpro are pursuing... find out more here

Safety Equipment

Unparalleled safety and dependability: a proprietary Interpro system built around a Two-out-of-three Voting Electrical Trip Device - the ITS Triguard!

Interpro brings to clients a number of proprietary approaches to ensure maximum and continuous service of all turbine-generation systems. A combination of system design, quality maintenance, hardware enhancements and inspections synergize to achieve the company's premium service package.

Central to this is the ITS Triguard. Nowhere can component redundancy be potentially more critical a concern than in relation to a steam turbine generator's emergency trip system components. As the one means of remotely tripping the turbine off line in the event of an emergency, this is one device that must be ready to operate when called upon. Interpro has created an emergency trip device that is both redundant, and fully testable while the unit is in service, and immune from nuisance trips during testing.
